The ITN Genomics Core utilizes a comprehensive SNP-chip (2 million SNPs/chip) and whole genome sequencing (WGS) on an Illumina platform. Although there are many services that will provide WGS, there are major advantages to the ITN from utilizing the Matthias laboratory, since analysis of the sequencing output requires sophisticated expertise. The Matthias lab is also a genomic core for the ADRN, NIAID’s Atopic Disease Research Network, facilitating cross-fertilization of knowledge regarding disease patterns and candidate immune genes.
