ITN had the pleasure of welcoming three new hires onboard yesterday: Karen Chia (CTG), Aparna Shukla (BDR), and Dennis Wightman (BDR).
We are very pleased to announce the hiring of Karen Chia as CTG’s newest Clinical Operations Manager. Karen will be working in the Autoimmune Therapeutic Area under the direction of Patti Tosta.
Karen holds a bachelor’s degree in Physiology from the University of Minnesota and is a certified clinical research professional. Prior to joining the ITN, Karen was the Clinical Trials Manager at a San Francisco based start-up company that launched the first-ever online clinical trial. Karen comes to the ITN with over 7+ years of experience in the conduct and management of Phase I-IV clinical trials in oncology, neurology, psychiatry, urology, and rheumatology. Having been a past UCSF employee, Karen is excited to have returned and is even more excited to have joined the ITN!
In Karen’s free time, she enjoys hikes along the coast, eating her way through California, Pilates, yoga, and spending time with her two Pomeranians. Please join Patti in welcoming Karen to the ITN.
The Data Management Group, within BDR, is very happy to have both Aparna Shukla and Dennis Wightman officially joining the ITN this week, after working with us as contractors for about six months.
Dennis has been utilizing his extensive experience as a software engineer and web developer providing both front and backend development support for the ITN TrialShare web portal. Dennis is an avid hiker whose hiking adventures include taking the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Tennessee and back again, and completing over 100 miles in four days in the International Four Day Volksmarch Nijmegen (or Vierdaagse) in the Netherlands - the largest marching event in the world.
Aparna is a business analyst with over six years of industry experience in software requirements analysis, process and system documentation, and software testing. She has been leading the requirements gathering, user guide development and testing efforts for TrialShare, as well as all the other applications and reports supported by the DMG. Aparna enjoys reading and listening to music when she can, but her favorite thing to do when not at work is simply spending time with her two boys, ages 16 and 12.
Please join DMG in continuing to give a warm welcome to Dennis and Aparna.
